I give this book THREE OUT OF FIVE STARS. It was an OK story that was somewhat interesting.

THIS BOOK IS A SAD STORY FOR 14 to 16 YEAR OLDS.

The main characters for this book are Ray, Mie, Mike, Teddy, and Die. One has an alcoholic father, another is overweight, one has to babysit and take care of her younger brother, who is also one of the main characters, and they stick together because none of them fit in at their high/grade school. This is a slow developing graphic novel story with colorful pictures. I enjoyed the book, but at many points I found it boring but interesting enough to continue reading. This book is about a group of high school misfits and the superhero they looked up to. This story is meant for all teenagers who do not quite fit in. Some might relate to the difficult home life of these children, their wish to become superheroes and their need for a superhero to keep them hopeful. Unfortunately, the story starts out when their superhero is killed by the bad guy and what the kids do when they find the superhero’s dead body. They react as kids who after this adventure will be forced to grow up through a painful experience. None seem to know the right thing to do and their situation goes from bad to worse. I felt their disappointment when they met and interacted with their hero. This book has many surprises throughout the story and both happiness and disappointment. The book is not a series.
