Teen Pumpkin Decorating

Do you like making scary pumpkins for Halloween? Want to use your artistic skills, all while enjoying some great food? Then join us to decorate your own mini pumpkin on October 28th from 1:00-2:30! Art supplies and food/drink will be provided. For more information, check out the flyer here!

Teen Bake-Off

Calling all teen bakers! Bring your best recipe for baked goods such as breads, cupcakes, pastries, and pies to our first Teen Holiday Bake Off on December 16th from 2:00-3:30! Public sampling and ballot voting will determine the first and second place winners. First Prize is $75.00, Second Prize is $50.00 Amazon Gift Card.

Contestants must complete an entry form to participate. Entry forms with contest rules and guidelines are available at the library from November 29th through December 13th. Age 12-18. For more information visit the library’s website here!

Book Club

2017 Essay Competition

Thank you to all who came to our 2017 Winter Writing Contest awards ceremony! It was a huge success! This year, we received 39 submissions, and we had to choose winners from a very competitive pool. Good job to all the participants and congratulations to 1st place Maryann Xue, 2nd place Brielle Perry, and 3rd place Amal Gohar!

 

If you were not able to make it to the awards ceremony, you can pick up your certificates and awards at the information desk at the front of the Burke Centre Library. Submissions will be posted on the website later today. Check out our past Winter Writing Contests from 2015 and 2016 as well!
