“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.”

Martin Luther King’s I Have a Dream speech is easily one of the most famous speeches in American History. The first successful march for civil rights, the March on Washington for Freedom and Jobs, gathered approximately a quarter of a million people present to see Martin Luther King’s iconic speech. At a time when it was not infrequent for people to be murdered simply because of their heritage, Martin Luther King Jr. worked to bring racial equality to the United States.  Martin Luther King Jr. day is a lot more than just a day off from school; it is a holiday celebrating equality and fairness for everyone.
